Alternating with PC/Mac via Dropbox

I have a Windows desktop machine, and a Mac laptop. I’m hoping to use both machines to work on my project by using Dropbox.

I’m having a problem doing this. When I backup the project to Dropbox with the Mac, the Windows version of Scrivener won’t open them. It either tells me it isn’t a valid Scrivener file, or it does nothing at all.

Does anything in this help you out? viewtopic.php?f=30&t=19607#p133597

No, it won’t open even when I click on the .scrivx file.

See attached screen capture.

Buried in that reply is the note that the current Scrivener for windows has a bug: it won’t open when you double-click on the scirvx file. You have to load Scrivener first. At that point, you can go back and double-click on that or any other scrivx file, or you can use the Open Existing Project button, or if you’ve already loaded it recently, the Open Recent button. If you have another project loaded, then the menu items File->Open and File->Open Recent do the same thing.

If that doesn’t solve the problem, then something else is wrong, and I’ll let someone with more know-how chime in.
