I am getting a new laptop this week. Finally. And although i love Scrivener, i haven’t gotten that new app preview from my head. It feels like it took the best bits of Ulysses and the UI of Bear which is my favorite and improved on them both. But it has been almost a year and nothing.
Not even some pictures to see how it is going. I would love some feedback. Or a beta key if available…
L&L’s policy is they generally don’t discuss until they are ready to go public.
As a person i understand the policy and respect it. But as a human being raised on the internet and seeking constant and immediate gratification… I WANT IT . I WANT IT NOOOOOOW.
Oh well… sigh

Just what is this new writing app people are talking about? Is it going to be a Scrivener replacement? Some sort of companion app?
I am on the fence about buying Scrivener, but now you have me confused. Should I hold out and wait?

To the best of my knowledge, we have nothing else we’re sharing publicly at present.
If you’ve been using the Scrivener trial and feel it’s a good fit for what you need, then I would suggest basing your purchase on that information.
We typically offer that 30-day trial for our programs, so you could consider testing the new program later if you’re curious about it.
If you haven’t been using the trial version of Scrivener yet, I recommend starting there.
And, to be clear, that trial period is for 30 non-consecutive days. That is, if you use Scrivener every day, the trial lasts 30 days; if you use it only two days a week, it lasts fifteen weeks.
Thanks @RuthS, for the helpful info. I am still on the Scrivener trial and I do like some non-core features such as the cork board, so I guess I will purchase version 3 after the trial is over.
That said, I will also keep an eye out for the new app
