This may sound like an odd request, but who around here knows PHP, especially as with regards to making a WordPress plugin?
There is the excellent open source WordPress plugin called “Bottom of Every Post.” It’s a simple PHP script that appends the same text, including links, to the bottom of every post. Doesn’t matter if the post is from 15 years ago, long before the plugin was installed, when that post is read, it will still append the text.
Problem is, although it still works, development stopped years ago, and the developer himself pulled the plugin from the WordPress repository. Even the official site is {{{poof}}} gone bye-byes. I’m worried that as time marches on into the future, it may cause issues.
So I was wondering if one of the more programming and technically minded people around here might be interested in picking up the project and maintaining it.
I CANNOT PAY ANYONE FOR THIS! I’m broke. I just thought to ask around here. From what I can find out, it’s fairly simple (but still beyond my abiities.)
Why am I suggesting this? Because the plugin serves a useful purpose and I can’t find another like it in it’s simplicity (it does one thing and that one thing very well), and you gotta be kidding me if you think I’m gonna try and learn how to do it myself. (I suppose I could make do with the built-in WP blog editor, but then I’d have to stop using my beloved desktop blog editor, MarsEdit (MarsEdit 5 - Powerful web publishing from your Mac.)
This is its place in the WP Directory: Bottom of every post – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org
