You all deserve a great holiday!!! Keith and the gang, you’ve all done an amazing job, pushing Scrivener 3 towards its birth while also launching the brilliant Scrivener for iOS, surely exhausing but you must be proud of what you’ve achieved.

Agree with nontroppo, save that you need at least one lump of coal as it will bring good luck.
And as Keith and L&L are Cornwall based, here’s a little nugget of Cornish pleasure.
My son Alaric would be ecstatic to get a stocking full of coal for Christmas.
Of course, he’s into blacksmithing and finally has a home forge set up after 3 years of teaching the Metalworking merit badge at a local Scout Camp…
Way cool. Practical smithing or artistic work? Live in an old cottage and have a number of bespoke pieces made by blacksmiths. Some really beautiful work.
Right now, more practical pieces, suitable for 12-15 year old boys to accomplish in 4-6 hours of work – spatulas, hooks, things like that. Like most teenagers, he wants to move on to swords and knives, but he is looking at ornamental pieces and how he would accomplish them.
Really impressed. Don’t know of any teenage smiths in the UK. A really good skill to learn and an interest to have.
Hi first of apologise for not posting my own topic - never used forum before and couldn’t find the function to do this.
Secondly, I wondered if there would be anyone that could help with a weird thing happening.
Early today I lost my scrivenings in the editor - well in fact they disaappeared to a tiny corner of the screen and could not be accessed But can be seen in composse… Then the programme crashed - this has never happened before (I am use a mac). After crash it seemd to be ok again, but has done it again and now I am worried as scrivenor has always seemed very stable!
Any thoughts greatly appreciated. I tried to contact the technical dept but they are now away to after the new year.

True: we are in January, one third has gone. We really have few info on the release, but this is ok. We wait.
My only worry is about the requirements: it is not clear if version 3.0 will run on El Capitan or be only for Sierra. I have an old Mac that does not run the new system (about which I have read very negative reviews).

It would probably run on El Cap and Sierra, but perhaps not on anything earlier.
One of the significant changes in version 3.0 is use of 64-bit libraries behind the scenes. This should make the code more reliable in general – Apple has been putting less effort into 32-bit tools for some time – but will limit our ability to support older versions of OS X.

Question to Scrivener 3.0: I know Beta Testing is going on for a while now, so you maybe can help and answer.
I’m running a decent project file with many Keywords, Scrivener links (to glossaries), etc. The whole project has grown over the past years. To switch such a project from the current version 2.81 to 3.0 - Do I need to go through a migration process and transfer the whole data or will Scrivener 3.0 just open the existing project files from 2.81 and save them in the new format like a charme?
In the past, Scrivener’s project format changes have been handled automatically by the program: just open existing projects in the new version. That is unlikely to change.
There’s always a small risk that the project will fail to convert correctly. This seems more likely to happen if there was pre-existing data damage of some kind: the converter handles a “normal” project correctly, but doesn’t know what to do with, say, Dropbox conflict files. For that reason, Scrivener makes a backup before attempting the conversion.
