I just noticed that in the APA paper template, the references in the sample PDF document in the Research folder are not in fact in APA format!
Just being a bit obsessive after my morning cup of coffee…

They were accurate at the time of writing, based on the information available online. It’s just an example template, really, though (like all other templates, it was created from he “Blank” project, and is fully customisable.
I know, it was really a trivial observation. My excuse is that I was a journal editor for 10 years, and I developed a conditioned reflex response to incorrect formatting. What’s really embarrassing is when a well-formatted bibliography makes me salivate!
