"APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur" By Guy Kawasaki

I’ve just finished “APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur” By Guy Kawasaki and Shawn Welch. It’s a great overview of the self-publishing process. I’ve found it very helpful to think about it in terms of those three responsibilities- the writing stage, the technical stage of getting the book published and then the entrepreneurial stage of marketing it.

My one disappointment with the book is that it gives Scrivener a very cursory mention. It’s semi complimentary about Scrivener but the basic message is that Scrivener looks too complicated and they recommend using Word and relying on the formatting styles feature for conversion to e-books.

Anyway, still a great read imo. I’d love to hear about what anyone else thought about it or other good self-publishing books if people know of them.
