Application says another instance of installer running

Just bought Scrivener, but I seem to be going in circles.

It seems to have downloaded and installed correctly, but when I click on the application, it tells me another instance of the installer running. I’ve only downloaded this software once.

It’s late for me but I thought I’d post the question in the hopes someone can advise me. Can anyone tell me what’s going on? Do I need to download this again?

Have you tried rebooting the computer yet? It sounds to me as though the installer started running and then failed and is hung up in the background. A reboot should clear it up. Alternatively you could probably end the process manually using the Task Manager “Processes” tab.

Thanks, Ioa. Apparently, I had a trial version several years old that refused to play nice with the full version. All fixed now.
