Attention Writers: Weekly Prompts for Flash Fiction

I have no idea where to put this, so mods please feel free to move this.

Starting on Monday, I am going to be posting a weekly prompt on my blog. The idea is for writers to use it to create a short story or flash fiction (under 1000 words) based on the prompt.

The details are on this blog page right here:

You may not be aware of this, but on Twitter there is such a thing as Friday Flash, a weekly thing where writers produce a story of under 1000 words, post to their blog and submit to an aggregator. I participate in this for the challenge (I tend to write huge, complex books), and also because it’s an excellent opportunity to promote your own work so those precious creatures called readers know about it.

Why am I posting all of this here? Well, I thought some of you guys might like to either make use of the weekly prompt or start doing Friday Flash. No pressure, of course!

If any of you are interested in this, you might like to follow me on Twitter, which is where I do most of my promotion, talking etc. about writing. You can find my Twitter page here:

If you @ me and let me know you found the link here, I’ll follow you back. I’d love to see what you guys put together from prompts. And yes, I’ll do my best to create my own prompt story, although with a bi-weekly serial, a book in the works, a lot of promotion going on right now, I might be a little pressed for time (excuses, excuses).

Ciao for now,

Joely xx
