To prevent fn + letter from doing something unexpected, you have to deactivate these “shortcuts”. Unfortunately, fn is not a real modifier like ⌘, ⌥, ⌃. Therefore, additional software such as BetterTochTool is required. BTT can either deactivate the function assigned by Apple or assign a different (custom) action.
I disabled all the Fn shortcuts.
