BBC Radio Play Features

I want to state that I searched the forum before posting this. If I missed a post that answers this question then point me to it please.

Are there features like hot keys in the BBC Radio Play format? Say, you could set up a list of characters and then choose them from a drop down menu upon writing the dialog?

Other features?

There must be, or else why have a template?

Thanks

Each type of script is made up of various elements (Character, Dialogue, Scene Heading, General Text etc). Each element is set up with a default actions that will automatically run when you press Enter or Tab (e.g. automatically follow a Character element with Dialogue.)

Hot keys are assigned to each of the elements within a script type so you can choose them manually.

Each type of script varies in the type of elements and automatic actions and (hot keys) it uses and what happens when you press Enter – they’re different in a BBC Radio Play from those in a Screenplay, for example. That’s basically why you have different templates. Note that (at least in the Mac version) you can override the template settings to another base type using the Format > Scriptwriting menu.

I don’t think you can set up drop down lists of characters, but you can use auto-complete – not sure how to set it up for Windows but it will be in the manual.
