A Spy Among Friends: a very good book, worth reading, written by The Times journalist Ben McIntyre - a pull-together of all the extensive material already in the public domain, plus a lot of private stuff from the diaries of Philby’s close friend Nicholas Elliott. It tells you a great deal about Philby and his extraordinary personality, and quite a bit about British class behaviour that enabled the Philby phenomenon to occur.

Thanks! Will listen.
