Binder stops functioning on mouse click and rightclick options disabled

This is a bit of a weird one that I can’t seem to reliably replicate, and quitting and reopening Scrivener (3.4 16639) (on MacOS 14.7) seems to resolve it.

I have an issue where every so often the binder seems to “stop responding” after some time spent editing. I have several texts under folders, with different icons. When I’ve been working on a text for a while, and want to switch the icon to default, if I right click, all the options are greyed out. Once I click back to the binder after this, I cannot left click on any texts in the same folder. It seems like the binder gets “laggy” on other folders too. I’ve had it a few times now when I start clicking around on the binder, and then suddenly other texts in other folders get dragged around an reorganized.

I cannot reliably get this to replicate to give any more information on it. I have to quit Scrivener and go back in for the binder to become responsive again. Next time it happens I’ll be sure to open Console, but it may be too late by that point. It seems to only be happening after the upgrade to 3.4.

Oddly, I had this happen last night. I wasn’t editing, though, just performing searches on a reference project. I had two projects open at the time – in separate tabs – and the other project continued to work just fine – so Scrivener wasn’t failing to respond.

Basically, no amount of clicking the Binder or Navigate Forward or Back would change the document in the editor.

I’m on latest Scrivener and macOS 15.2.
