Substitutions that start with and alphanumeric don’t work at the beginning of a line.
So (c) works, but 1/2 doesn’t.
Add a space at the beginning of the line and the work fine.
Strange.
I’ve tried to reproduce this and haven’t had any luck. Here is what I tried:
- Went into
File ▸ Options...
, under Corrections. - Turned on Enabled additional substitutions.
- Clicked the
Edit Substitutions...
button. - Added an entry for
(c)
to convert to the symbol. - Added an entry for
1/2
to convert to the symbol. - Ticked the example entry for
1st
to convert to1º
- Clicked
OK
to close and save the substitution changes. - Clicked
OK
to save options. - Created a new blank text item for testing.
- On the first line I type
(c)
and press Return. I get the symbol. - On the second line,
1/2
and press Return. I get the symbol. - On the third line,
1st
and press Return. I get the ordinal.
Could you describe how you are getting different results?
