Bug with bullets

Sometimes bullets are indented or outdented to unexpected locations.

To recreate this:

  • Create a new text page
  • Create a bulleted list, something like the below list, but with real bullets, indented using tabs.
  • Close and restart Scrivener.
  • Come back to your page, and indent one of the bullets one more tab (say, 1b). On my system, the indented bullet is not aligned with bullet 1b1.
  • Unindenting (shift-tab) will outdent it, but again, to an unexpected location just like indenting.

Hope that helps.

  • Bullet 1
    • Bullet 1a
    • Bullet 1b
      • Bullet 1b1
      • Bullet 1b2
  • Bullet 2
  • Bullet 3

This bug was reported during the beta within the last few months, but I don’t know where it fits in L&L’s priorities.

I find that the appearance of bullets and the indenting associated with bullets will depend on whether there is additional formatting applied to the text, and possibly the order in which the formatting and bullets were applied. I haven’t tried to figure it out.

Probably not related, but there is also a display issue with bullets (unnumbered lists) copied and imported from Word. Described here. https://forum.literatureandlatte.com/t/bulleted-lists-copied-and-imported-from-word/95601/1

I still get this bug even without formatting the text. I hope it’s fixed soon, it’s meant I have to write bullets in another software.
