Can anyone help me recover a file?

Help, i’ve sent a support email, but I had today set aside to write (unexpected day off work) but my file seems to be corrupt and I’m so scared I lost it all. I normally switch between. mobile app and desktop. I’ve tried to be careful to always sync changes from one before going to open the other. But something happened the other day and now i get these errors.

Desktop:

“Document could not be opened, it may have become corrupted…”

But when i try to open a new file and import old, every option is unselectable. SAme story in Backups. And when i try to open on mobile it says ‘Sync conflicts detected….make dropbox is fully sync’d” but i have and i’m scare to try to open it further…

Can anyone help?

It looks like one of my colleagues has picked up your support request. Check your spam folder if you haven’t received our response yet.

I won’t duplicate their efforts here, except to say that the answer to “I’m afraid to open the file” is always to use Finder to make a duplicate, and open that.

Yes, i did get a response! But I can’t do what they said to do (go into backups). It doesn’t enable me to select anything under File. Everything is grayed out.
