Hi,
Is there a way to set my own spacing between lines or am I compelled to use one of the few options in the compile window?
Thanks.

Hi.
You can reformat as much as you want.
Pick a compile format from the list on the left (compile panel), preferably a compile format that is somewhat what you want, and double click it.
You’ll be prompted to duplicate and edit, click so, then explore.
I recommend that you read the manual about compile formats.
It is easy once you know your way around, but otherwise it can get a little overwhelming at first.
Chapter 23 “Compiling the Draft” in the Scrivener Manual can get you started on how to use that function of Scrivener.
Chapter 24 “The Compile Format Desiger” gets into the nitty-gritty of customizing compile formats for your specific needs.
The provided built-in formats (and those found in project templates) are all well and good—and in many cases may be all you need to get your work out to the rest of the world—but if you want to dig into what makes these settings tick, perhaps to build your own unique document designs from scratch, or even just change something as simple as the font used for chapter headings or add your own heading style, then the format designer is where it all starts, and ends. Everything that we provide in our defaults can be done here, and thus every aspectof them can be changed or reproduced whole cloth.
I strongly recommend learning the Compiler function LONG BEFORE you actually need it. Doing that eliminates a lot of frustration if you’re trying to figure out compiling when you are up against a deadline (self-imposed or not.)
Thank you! After some trial and error, I think I’ve got it. Scrivener and Scapple continue to be my favorite pieces of software.
