Can no longer create bulleted or numbered lists using the styles function in Scrivener3.1.5 for Mac (Catalina)

Hello.

I’ve used Scrivener for years. And one of the features I use most often is the styles function.

In Scrivener 2, I would very often create a bulleted or numbered list from plain text using the styles function. It always worked.

For example, I would write copy like this (or copy and paste it from somewhere else):

Place bullet one here.
Place bullet two here…
Place bullet three here…

… then select all of it…

… then select Styles > Bullets (“Bullets” would be a style I created that INCLUDED the actual bullet and tab).

And after I did that, the copy would look like this:

◆	Place bullet one here...
◆	Place bullet two here...
◆	Place bullet three here...

But NOW, when I try to do this in Scrivener 3, it doesn’t put in the bullet or number. It just indents the copy. (The indenting is from when I originally created the style. So the indenting is there. But the actual bullet or number doesn’t appear. Again, this worked in Scrivener 2.)

How can I fix this? I know I can manually add the bullet… but this is extremely frustrating because this worked so well in Scrivener 2.

Please help!!!

You can create a bulleted list using Format>Lists and choosing a style, or by using the List item in the toolbar. This can be done before or after applying paragraph or character styles. Does that not do what you want? I know it is a two stage process - style then list - but it is pretty quick to do.
