The Scrivener manual (23.4.3) shows a cog that can be pressed to find the “convert rich text to markdown” setting. The cog button does nothing when I press it though; is this an issue with Scrivener 3.4 on Mac?

Please make sure to use the beta version if you have upgraded to macOS 26. The old version has numerous issues that are still being fixed (but we’ve included the most important, such as fixing the compile window, in the beta).
The beta version works as per the manual. Thank you very much for your help.
