Can't activate Scriv on new macbook air

Hi all, I will be very grateful if anyone can help me out here. I have bought a new macbook air 2025 to replace my 2017 version of the same model. All day yesterday was spent trying to activate Scrivener on my new mac, I even retrieved my licence/code from Paddle/LL but to no avail. I asked for help but the same result, there is no VPN on my machine and no “added” antivirus, if anyone has any suggestions I will be eternally grateful. Thanks, Jimmy.

Any licencing enquiry should be directed to the L&L team as they don’t discuss on public forums for privacy.

Yeah I know and that is exactly what I have done without success all day yesterday, even the code they sent me is exactly the same as the one I was am trying to generate. The reason I have reached out on here is to ask for help, has anyone else had this problem and if they needed to do anything internally, i,e in the computer. L&L have now stopped coresponding with me so I am at a total loss and desperate.

Might need to give them just a moment to respond. Don’t think a day qualifies as ‘stopped corresponding’. No clues as to what region you are in and any time difference that might be in play.

Also, have you checked your junk/SPAM folders?

I don’t recall any magic ways around the registration system ever being discussed here.

I’m in the UK pal and I am not being impatient, I need this thing up and running, and I don’t believe this problem is unique to me only. By the way, there was no delay with them yesterday, I sent emails and received them back reaching into double figures, every single one of them courteous. Thank you for your input.

In case the OP forgets to update the thread, I just wanted to let the forum know that one of my UK colleagues responded in a matter of minutes after this forum post. It turned out that their network provider was blocking access to the activation server.

For future reference, it might be helpful to know that installing Scrivener on a new machine resets the “trial” timer. 30 days of actual use should be more than enough time to resolve any licensing issues that might arise.

Thanks to Jen from L & L I have got my licence activated. Simply by disconnecting from my network provider and connecting to my iphone hotspot resolved the problem, switching back to my network provider caused no further issues and everything is as it should be. It does seem a wee bit strange though, considering my phone is on the same network. All’s well that ends well.

‘Pal’? Oh and some rubbish for 20

Lol, it’s quite obvious what you are ‘pal’ and what you’re up to. This is the last time I will reply to your trolling, goodbye, and do try to have a good life, I apologise for hurting your feelings and pray you recover soon. God bless… and I mean that most sincerely. :folded_hands:

You got all passive aggressive over a reasonable response.

I also don’t believe in a fairy in the sky, or meaningless ‘prayers’ so a bit of a waste there.
