Never mind. I found it hiding in a folder in the Trash. Scary.
I can edit it, I just can’t find it. Where is it?
The Binder column. I"m working on a chapter, it shows up when I search by word, but it does not show up in the Binder column. I wonder how many more chapters are not showing up. What gives?
I’m using an iMac dual core running 10.6.2, whatever they are calling that now.
Incidentally, when you are editing something you can press Cmd-Opt-R to reveal the item you are editing in the Binder. This little trick can save you lots of time, and it can also reveal where search results are coming from. In this case it would have immediately made it obvious that the item had somehow been trashed. Do note that this will wipe out your current search list, so if you want to quickly go back and forth between a search results list and Binder source positions (say you are trying to locate ten files), you should save your search first (click the magnifying glass icon for this option).
Another way to determine if your search result is in the trash if the icon in the search result list. It will be fainter than the other icons, though this effect is subtle and might be hard to pick out if your search results include only items in the trash.
