Just started. Have been going round in circles trying to follow the video which says I should start with a blank page. I’ve also somehow got a non-fiction project started that only lets me write in tiny boxes rather than a full page. And is it a problem that I’m on Windows? Many thanks for any tips.

In the menu bar, click
(You are currently in corkboard view - the middle icon. (?) If so, those “small boxes” are actually emulated cue cards ; for outlining.)
And to add new documents, either Ctrl-N or
There is a tutorial project with basic operations explained. I recommend you take the tour.
