Hi, Scrivener team,
I’ve noticed that, on the Mac, pressing Return after inserting a placeholder tag at the beginning of a sentence gets it a capital initial if you have “Fix capitalization of sentences” turned on. So, for instance, you end up with:
<$Wc100> words
instead of
<$wc100> words
Mac’s compile function handles this gracefully and recognizes both uppercase and lowercase tags. However, the Windows versions does not, it only compiles lowercase tags correctly.
The problem arises when you inadvertently do this on the Mac and then expect it to compile on Windows.
It’s easy to fix by the user (just correct the case of the tag), but I thought I’d report it anyway just in case you may want to fix it, so the project’s contents don’t depend on where they are created.
Best regards,
