Centering images

I just finished a frist draft for my latest book. This is the first time I’ve used Scrivener since my Sonoma upgrade.

I am having problems centering images lleft to right. The alignment icon doesn’t seem to function at all with newer images. Old ones I can seem to paste into and then the image is centered.

I’d pop open the Ruler (with View ▸ Text Editing ▸ Show Ruler) and make sure that the little triangles on the ruler are pulled all the way to the left and right respectively. If you have a really large right indent for example, that could keep something from appearing centre-aligned. If you aren’t sure about the ruler, have a look at Figure 15.6 in the user manual.

The other thing to check is to right-click to the left or right of the image, on the same line, and look for a “Table” submenu. If you see one, that means the image is in a table and that could also restrict its freedom of movement. There is a command in there to remove the table.
