Change App Icon in Windows 11 (Taskbar)

I’ve just changed to the latest version of Scrivener on Windows 11. Loving it so far, but I can’t figure out how to change the taskbar icon on Windows 11. I tried replacing the icon file in the resources folder of the app, but that doesn’t appear to have done anything. Any ideas?

I don’t actually mind the current icon that much - I originally made one to replace the old yin/yang one - but it’s a slight niggle and I hate that I can’t figure it out!

The “traditional” Windows way:

  1. Right-click the icon in the taskbar
  2. Then right-click again on Scrivener
  3. Then click on Properties
  4. Click on the button that says “Change icon”, you might have to browse through the various tabs of the Properties dialog to find this button
  5. Then point to the icon resource you want

It did work on my Win11, but only after I restarted my machine.
