Changing header/footer colours.

Hi. Just a quick question.

Is it possible to change the colour of the headers and footers in the compile format?

I can get the font and the size to change, but I can’t seem to get the colour to stick.

There isn’t even a colour option anywhere for this, is there? But no, there’s no way of adding colour to headers and footers.

All the best,
Keith

Actually, there is, yes.

But it doesn’t remember the setting.

I take it I’m not supposed to be able to do that.

Hmm, the colour options should be hidden in the font panel. Testing this, it seems that when you click on the font control to open the font panel, the colour options are hidden, but if you then click on the toolbar of the font panel, they reappear. That seems like a macOS bug. My code uses Apple’s validation techniques to tell the font panel to hide the colour, underline etc options, but Apple’s font panel seems to show them regardless as soon as you click the toolbar. Annoying.

But no, they aren’t supposed to be available, and no, you aren’t supposed to be able to do that.

EDIT: With further testing, I’ve found that the bug only affects controls in sheets (sheets being slide-out windows such as Compile). I have reported the issue to Apple as bug ID#43934697.
