Hi,
I have spent the best part of an hour struggling over this one. How do I promote or demote a text document in the binder from one level to another? This has be beat.
OK, solved. Thanks.
Glad you got it sorted - as you have no doubt found out, you can just drag and drop or use the Documents > Move keyboard shortcuts.
All the best,
Keith
Hi Keith, strangely, drag and drop didn’t work. That’s what floored me. I am talking here about moving a document from level 1 to level 2 in importance. Level 1 is for chapters and gets the chapter heading while level two does not: they are sub sections within the chapter. So drag and drop didn’t work here, I had to use the move option. Tricky.
How did you drag it, though? Levels don’t really indicate “importance” in the binder - they are a hierarchy. So to indent a document, it has to become a child of the item directly above it. To indent a text document that has a text document above it, therefore, you drag the text document and drop it onto the text document directly above it in order to make it a child of that item.
All the best,
Keith
Thanks Keith, that’s terrific. That’s exactly the information I seek. Beautiful. What I was doing was this: click on ‘manuscript’ in the binder, then go to ‘view mode’ and click the right hand side icon. This brings up a map of the manuscript with all the documents. I then highlighted the one I wanted to change the level of and clicked on the right arrow button on my keyboard. This did the trick, but I suspect it is a long way round to achieve what you have just described.
