Hello, I should know but I forgot… At the bottom of my Scrivener window there is the word count, if I select some text then this number is updated to show the relevant count of whatever is selected.
That has been my default setting and it serves me fine.
Now I need to see the character counts instead of the word count, I know I can get it by clicking on the word count, but it would be better if it is there.
I have seen even some screenshots that show word count / character count but it seems I am loosing myself in the menu.

I think this is displayed by default for me. Word and character count. Doesn’t the footer look like this for you?
