Colour palette bug

Hello everyone and have a really productive 2015!
Now to the bug: I just installed the unofficial version of Scrivener on Ubuntu 14.04 and, while going through the tutorial project I encountered some kind of a problem. It might be small, since I can manage it by using the right-click menu directly in the editor, but I saw that the colour sub-menu, both the one on the toolbar and the other from the Compile dialog window, that are supposed to open when right-clicked, do not. They might “flash” for a split second, but do not open and , hence, are unusable.
Fellow “unofficials”, what should I do? Is there a particular solution to this or I should just wait for an update? I must mention that I transfered to Ubuntu only a few months ago, but I haven’t had a problem I couldn’t fix myself (with the help of some exeprienced users who posted different solutions here and there).
I appreciate any input, but since this isn’t a vital problem, merely an annoying bug, it isn’t of any urgency.
Thank you!

Hey ruttus, yes, the failure of the colour drop-down menu is a known issue.

And as you say, the problem appears not just in the main toolbar but also in the toolbar at Compile/Formatting.

And as you’ve discovered, there is a workaround. I’m afraid we have to live with it for the moment - the joy of beta!
