Colour, Theme [for the index card in the inspector]

Hello everyone!
I’ve now changed all of Scrivener’s colors to my liking, but I don’t know how to change the color of the right bar (screenshot).

Can someone please help me?
And please excuse my English!
Greetings from Germany!

Leon

Hello, Leon.

Try this:

File > Options > Composition Mode > Notes Background and/or File > Options > Composition Mode > Synopsis Background.

See the screenshot:

Does this help?

That’s close, and a good one to be aware of when making a theme, but the inspector in Composition mode is its own thing, it floats rather than sitting in the side of the window—and because Composition might frequently employ a different aesthetic (dark vs light, even), we’ve replicated many of the colour options from the main Appearance: Inspector section, so that it can have a different look, there.

For this particular colour though, it’s not in the Inspector section either, it is in the Index Cards section. Since index cards are shown in the corkboard as well as the various inspector views, we thought it made more sense to have an entire section for them.

The next thing to check, if that has no (or very minimal) impact, is whether the project has the View ▸ Use Label Colour In ▸ Index Cards menu toggle checked. I don’t think that’s a problem here, because in this screenshot we can see the label for this item is bright cyan, while the index card looks more within the realm of a very dark chartreuse—but I suppose you could end up with a blend like that, with the right base colour.

Thank you for your efforts, Steve!
It didn’t help, and you can see the reason in AmberV’s answer.
Thanks for your time anyway!

@AmberV: Your explanation is very helpful.
I enabled “View-Use Label…-Index…” and nothing happened. I disabled it, and the color changed. I entered my color, and it changed.
Now I have all the colors I wanted.
I really hope this was translated well and everyone understood it.
Thank you very much for your efforts.
I love this app!

Interesting! It sounds like somehow it got enabled, but without showing that in the menu. So the first time you used the menu command it turned it on—again. When you toggled it to disable, it finally turned off.

There is some kind of bug there, but probably not one we’ll ever see again.
