Compare Timelines/Chapter Orders

I have a project with a lot of parallel storytelling, and thus I can move chapters around. Is there a way I could set it up so I can have a quick comparison between two possible chapter sequences? I feel like the two outlines I want to compare are different enough that it’s a lot of work to try moving things around back and forth. I am considering making a new copy of my scrivener project so I can still go back to the old chapter order if I need to.

Hi.

Collections are (among other things) intended for that.
You can reorder documents as much as you want without affecting the binder itself, and then compile either the binder, or any collection.

You could switch from a said order of documents to another, to compare, in just a few clicks. (A single one, even, depending on your approach.)

Section 10.2 in the manual.

Vincent is right. However, to be able to change order, you must use a static collection. Right click on a single document/folder, or multiple ones at once and see add to collection.
You can also combine this with metadata tags for dates, or do custom text entries and enter dates and see this in the outliner view to help with arranging order of collections.
