Compatibility between Scrivener 3.36 and 3.4

Hi,

I run Scrivener on two Macs, one an old Mac Pro Late 2013 running MacOS 12.7.6 (the latest version it can run) and one a relatively new MacBook Pro 14-inch, 2023 running MacOs 14.7.2. Because of the older operating system, I cannot update to Scrivener 3.4 on my older computer. I’m wondering if will projects be seamlessly compatible across 3.36 and 3.4, allowing me to upgrade my newer machine to 3.4.

Yes, the two versions use the same project format.

Thanks, I had the same question. This info should maybe go on the update announcement page people see when they get the update message?

Generally speaking, changes to the project format are rare. It’s safe to assume that two releases of the same major version (Scrivener 3, in this case) are compatible unless we explicitly say otherwise.
