When I compile epub, novel formal, with 2 sections, Chapter Heading and Chapter, I get an unwanted page break after each Chapter Heading. I have spent a lot of time trying various section layouts for both the Chapter Heading and Chapter sections. The Chapter Heading has an initial page break, which is what I want. The Chapter layout selected has no page break.
So why is the page break generated between the Chapter Heading and the Chapter?
I don’t think it should be this difficult.
If the chapter Layout has a Pagebreak Separator before the Section, it will show up as a dotted line in the previews in the center column of the Compile Overview window.
You could also have set a Pagebreak after the Chapter Heading Section…
Thanks for the reply. The Chapter Heading has a page break at the beginning only. The Chapter layout has no page break.
Another reason for a white page in e-books is whitespace after the last element on the page. This could be just return characters, but also bottom margin or padding of the last element can have this effect.
To solve this, remove the whitespace from the text or in the Stylesheet. Use e-book editor Sigil when you can’t do that with Scrivener.
