Compile Ignores Right Margin Settings

I’ve tried about a dozen different ways to fix this issue. No matter what I do, when I use the Compile feature (to make a PDF using the Times New Roman 12 pt. filter) it ignores the right margin settings and flows the text practically to the edge of the page. Top, bottom, and left are all fine, but the right margin is always right up practically to the page’s edge.

Initially I was copying and pasting from a Word doc. Then I converted to RTF. I got rid of all formatting, headers/footers, section breaks, everything. Still the issue remained. Finally I’ve tried importing unformatted text from Window’s Notepad, yet the Compile continues with the same issue.

I’ll attach a screenshot of the Compiled PDF file.

Some more info: I run Windows 64-bit Vista Home Premium and use MS Word 2007 and Adobe Reader X.

Hopefully someone can help me with this issue, because I really do like what Scrivener has to offer.

This is a known bug in the PDF compiler at the moment. Try compiling to RTF, opening in Word, and creating your PDF from there. At the very least you can edit the right indent so as to not conflict with the established margins if need be.

And just to let you know, this bug has been fixed in the next beta, which will be out in a couple days.

Thank you so much! Yay! You just made the rest of my week.

Also, Amber, thanks for the workaround. It didn’t occur to me to do it that way, but I imagine that would work if it had to be done. Luckily, I’m in no hurry and can wait for the next beta release.
