Compile Issues.

For the record, I love this program. LOVE it. However, the compile options are making me want to tear my hair out. I’ve been through the tutorials, I’ve read through the help file. I’ve searched the forums, and maybe I’m just blind, but I couldn’t find any question that resembles mine.

I have been trying to Compile to .doc so I can send a rough-draft version of my book to alpha readers. I do not know what I am doing wrong, but: The headers that show title and word count on every page just say “Surname/Title/pg#” (the page numbers are the only function that are correct there, by the way)

I do have a title page. I have my little index cards all labeled with Titles and synopses. Everything is in the Manuscript folder that I want exported. I select and format my titles in the compile screen. I do not know what step I have missed or how to fix it, and am extremely frustrated. I’m sure it’s something easy, something every other user has figured out.

At this point, it’s just easier to copy/paste into Word and send it that way.

Please, for the love of Helvetica, please tell me what I am doing wrong? :frowning:

Have you looked at the “Page Settings” portion of the compile window? You have to expand the window first, if you haven’t already, by clicking on the button with the blue arrow pointing down. You also have to have “Word Document” or other printable format (not epub, for instance) selected in the Compile for: drop-down for this option to be present.

haHA! I knew I was overlooking something obvious. Thank you so much for pointing it out!!!
