Compile to DOC, ODT, or RTF?

I’m working on creating a PDF for Createspace, and will be working with OpenOffice. Does it make any difference which format I compile to, DOC, ODT, or RTF?

If so, which is best?

I would say RTF is the best choice in most cases here. That’s the internal format that Scrivener uses, so anything other than that is going to be an extra layer of conversion. We do actually use OpenOffice for conversion to ODT, if it is installed, but I doubt that provides any sort of advantage over just opening the RTF in OpenOffice itself. For OO, .doc is probably going to be the worst since you’d then be converting the file twice before it gets to Writer.
