Compile to epub isn't carrying text messaging format with it

Hello again all….

Having some trouble getting text messaging formats to show correctly in epub compile. They show up perfectly fine in the compile to MS WORD below:

This is a shot of the epub vs scrivener. It’s not even justifying it correctly in epub.

Tried:

  1. Having learned about Preserve Formatting (thank you Vincent_Vincent) recently, I tried that to no avail.

  2. Delete/readd Styles (did this twice):

Sample setup:

  1. Tried As-is and playing with these but not the last one… don’t know CSS well enough to venture here.

For “scene” pages my section layout is as follows:

Setting it to As-Is doesn’t work and introduces an issue of the Chapter Number and the first paragraph being forced to separate pages.

Searched and searched and I can’t find anything.

I’m stumped on how to move forward with this one.
Thanks in advance.

Justification is a tricky one with ebooks. Most will take over that formatting based on the theme or settings of the ebook reader, and ignore whatever you try to do otherwise. I wouldn’t try to design around it in other words, and try to find something that will work whether the reader justifies or not.

Thanks, I was beginning to get that feeling from how it was acting and what I was reading. Went to CMOS and I think I’ll just use the format I’m using in a different circumstance:

My office messenger pinged.
Brent: Cutting it close there, aren’t you? Approved. Have you started Kensington or Smith?
Me: Thank you. No, but I’ll spend time tomorrow and this weekend on them.
Brent: Make time for yourself. Enjoy the long weekend. You better be leaving town.
Me: Headed to the mountains.
