I have about 100 inspector footnotes that I am compiling into .docx as endnotes, but they are not going in the location of the endnote marker <$–ENDNOTES–>, which seems not to work at all. Instead they are going to the end of my document. But there are some things, like the index, that are supposed to go after the endnotes. Why isn’t the endnote marker working?
I also tested this out on a simple test document and it seems like it never works. I don’t even know why the insertion is even an option.
As it isn’t mentioned in your report, to confirm, you are are following the full instructions given in the placeholder list documentation?
<$--ENDNOTES-->
Tells the compiler where to place the endnotes. If this placeholder is not present, the endnotes will get placed at the end - this placeholder just provides a way to customise the placement of the endnotes. (Note that this placeholder cannot be used with script or MultiMarkdown formats, and can only be used with RTF and .docx if “Flatten footnotes…” is selected in the “RTF Compatibility” compile options.)
