Copying all documents to a new collection

I am attempting to reorganize a novel using collections and realized that folder structure does not work in a collection. How can I efficiently copy every document from the binder to a new collection, so that each one is separate?

Do you want just scenes? If so search by section type. Now at the bottom is an option to save the search as a static collection. You could manipulate to heart’s content and not effect binder. I am a windows user but should work.

It sounds like you’re asking if it’s possible to make (let’s say) 200 collections, each with one binder item in them respectively, but I can’t envision a good reason to ever do that. Well, to take your thread heading at a literal interpretation:

  1. Open project search.
  2. Click on the magnifying glass and “Reset search options” toward the bottom.
  3. Type in a single asterisk as the search term.
  4. Maybe click on the magnifying glass again and constrain the search to “Search Draft Only”, unless you actually want everything.

Now with a list of all the items in the draft folder (or the entire binder) in the list, ⌘ / CtrlA to select all, and then use the Documents ▸ Add to Collection ▸ New... menu command.

No. What I meant was “how can I create a new collection that includes every document (scene) in my manuscript.” The purpose is to create a new story order, because the book takes place over three different eras. My original outline was chronological, but I want to try a contemporary approach that flashes back to the other two eras. GoalieDad’s solution works.
