I recently updated from an older version of Scrivener to Scrivener 3.0. Previously, when I copied text from Scrivener onto another platform (Google Docs or the like), it would maintain any use of italics, bold, or underle. Since updating to 3.0, I can no longer seem to get it to keep italics. I want to share documents with friends via gdocs, but I don’t want to have to go through 40k of fiction to fix all the missing italics. Anyone have any suggestions? (Sorry if this is really obvious and/or has been asked before; I went through the forums but most questions seemed to be about pasting to Scrivener rather than copying it to another platform…)
Why don’t you just compile the sections you want to share to .doc or .rtf. Google docs can read them.

Yes, copy and paste is often not reliable between different programs, and that is especially true when browsers are involved. You might even find a particular webpage works better with paste in a different browser, which serves to illustrate how fragile all of this can be.
But compiling is easy, and transferring text with files is the standard and higher quality way of doing things between programs. Since you obviously just want the text with no formatting adjustment, no headings added, etc., just pick “Default” from the left sidebar in the compiler. You don’t even have to worry about the yellow warning in the middle preview column. Note how it says if you don’t set up anything there, it will print everything as-is? Since you’ve been happy with copy and paste, that’s all you need.
