Could Scratch Pad also read plain text?

Hi everyone,

while Scrivener is my note taking app on desktop and laptop, I use Notebooks ob my iPad for that purpose. Both apps use Dropbox for saving their notes (so I set Scrivener’s Scratch Pad folder to use Dropbox).

It would be absolutely great to integrate Notebooks notes into Scrivener’s Scratch Pad. However, .txt files in the Scratch Pad folder don’t show up in the Scratch Pad. Is there a reason why Scrivener is so fixed on RTFD files? Would it be possible to make plain text readable as well? Every plain text file would then show up as a note in Scratch Pad. And if it was editable and savable too, that would be workflow heaven…

Unfortunately, Notebooks doesn’t save RTFD, so that way round won’t happen…

Best regards,

Christian

It’s fixed to RTF because the scratch pad editor is rich text, and it isn’t really designed for syncing. It’s not a bad idea for iPad use, though, so I’ve added it to the list of possibilities for the future - we’re talking a little way off in the future, though, I’m afraid.
All the best,
Keith

Gotta dig that one up to praise thy lordship!

With Scrivener 2.4 this old wish of mine has been fulfilled! Thank you so much! Thou keepest thy promises! 8)

Even greater now, this Scrivener thang…

Best regards,

Christian

Glad you like it!
