When I press Control-Z to undo an edit, it performs the undo command fine – but when it’s done it moves the cursor down to the bottom of my file so that I have to go back and find where I had been working. I haven’t seen Ctr-Z do this in any other applications.
I am up to date – Version: 3.1.5.1 (2073405) 64-bit - 06 Jul 2023 – but I think the problem predates this update.
Ditto – or at least similar if the change being undone was a formatting change (though, move to top for me on undo style change). No problem with simple edits, e.g. undo typing.
I’m aware of the bug with undoing styles scrolling to the top of the editor, but I haven’t so far reproduced this issue of undoing a formatting command scrolling to the bottom. Is there additional context that might be affecting this, e.g. Scrivenings mode or Typewriter Scrolling enabled? If you could share steps that will allow you to reproduce it every time from scratch, that would be helpful.
It goes to the bottom when you undo pasting something that was copied from an external source.
In my case, I use ComfortKeys to type some redundant stuff for me, and whenever I undo that, I end up with the cursor at the bottom. (So, to be more precise, it is not always pasting. Sometimes it types entries for me. And undo takes me to the bottom.)
(A guess would be that it is related to the content having outsider formatting. I’ll test vs paste and match style.)
EDIT : Yep, the very same content pasted back using Paste and Match style doesn’t on undo.
But then it doesn’t either if I copy paste it normally from Scrivener to Scrivener.
So maybe my test is worthless.
