Cursor in margin highlights entire line or paragraph

This is one of the few Word features that I truly love, and have a hard time living without: In Word, when you place the cursor in the margin, and click, the entire line is selected. You can also select a complete paragraph by by moving the cursor, which makes moving things around so much easier.

I find this fantastic for editing and organizing. I write a lot of headlines and taglines that I need to be able to delete or copy quickly. I’m also compulsive about creating headers (i.e. “Version 1”) that I want to style, as well as section names. And the editing process usually requires selecting blocks of text.

It’s a little thing, I know. But the lack of this one feature is one reason I feel Pages is not ready for prime time. It saves time and is a great convenience.

(Sorry if someone else already requested this, or if it will be in 2.0. I searched and couldn’t find anything.)

Love Scrivener and look forward to the next version! Thanks!

You can select entire paragraphs with triple-click, and if you drag after triple-clicking, you can easily block out a section by paragraph. This trick probably works in Pages too, it’s a bit of a Mac standard.

Yes, of course. But it’s just not the same. 8)
