Deleted text appearing in Compile

When I compile a manuscript for export, long-deleted text appears in the final compile (no matter what the format, PDF, Word, etc.).

Then it’s not actually deleted. Or rather, it’s still present in a document included by the Compile command. The Compile command can only see what’s actually there.

You can use the Project Search to find exactly where it is.

Many thanks - I had tried that and Search does’t find it. It’s the Introduction to the document so it’s easy to locate. In addition the replacent text (for the deleted section) does not appear in the Compile though it’s clearly there in the final version. ost odd.

Is it possible that at some point you had copied the text in question into the compile format, e.g. created a document prefix or some such? If you run a test compile using the “Default” format, does it still include that text?

I tend to always use Default, that was where I noticed it first. I then altered it through a number of Compiles but no difference. I’m mystified.

Just for information, as a workaround I created a duplicate of the original and the Compile from the duplicate is perfectly fine.
