Deleting Notes with Delete Key

Hi,

I know this is possible because I used to be able to do it –

If I have a note selected I’d like to delete it using the “Delete” key. As it stands I have to right-click and pick “Delete” from the contextual menu.

I can’t assign “Edit->Delete” to the Delete key in MacOS Settings.

Is there a way within Scapple to assign this functionality?

Thanks

Wes

While the (default) shortcut doesn’t show up in the menu (for whatever reason), selecting a note and pressing does the job for me.

What Scapple and macOS versions are you using?

Scapple 1.40.2, Sonoma 14.6.1

Sounds up to date (mine says 1.4.2 ?). Hmmm.

I guess you already tried restarting your Mac.

Do you have any utilities installed that could snatch the shortcut? (Although Delete would be a really bad idea to “repurpose”. But who knows.)

Just to make sure, since full size Mac-specific keyboards can have two separate keys called “delete” rather than a Backspace (or printed as a large ← on the right of the symbol/number row) key and a Delete key: it is the large delete key, and not the smaller “Del” key above the arrow keys. But, if one doesn’t work, try the other!
