Displaying imported web pages

Hi,

I added a webpage as webpage complete and when I try to open it, it opens in Internet Explorer. I’d much rather if it opened in Chrome or Firefox. My machine’s default browser is Chrome so I don’t know why the pages open in IE. I tried to look around Scrivener’s options to see if I can change the settings somewhere but didn’t find anything.

Can you help me out?

Thank you.

Are you using the beta version, importing as MHT? You’ll need to change the default program used for this file type from IE to something else–Chrome would be my suggestion, as it natively reads that file type; Firefox I believe doesn’t do it automatically but could if you installed a plugin.

An easy way to do this is to drag the imported MHT file from the binder to your desktop, then right-click and choose Open With > Choose Default Program… and then select Chrome, leaving “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” checked. (This is from Win7; it may be slightly different on another Windows version.) You can afterward delete the MHT file from the desktop–that was just a copy of the one in the project, for ease of setting the file association–and all the MHT files in your project should open in Chrome now.

Thank you so much, it worked! I was looking for some kind of setting within Scrivener, didn’t think of copying the file out of the binder.

As as a feedback, so far I’m very happy with the latest beta version, have had no problems at all.
