Document is showing sub-doc icon, but no sub-doc and can't view my chapter

Working on both Win & Mac. One of my chapter docs is showing a sub-doc icon. I currently have no sub doc there, and when I click to view the chapter, I get a blank screen with the message that this doc has no sub-doc. I can’t get it to display the main doc, i.e. my chapter. I’ve tried a rollback from the last snapshot. How do I get rid of the sub-doc indicator, and how do I get to view my chapter?

Thank you, Sally

. . . . . . .

This, I don’t know. … It shouldn’t.

If it is indeed wrong (perhaps it is something else I didn’t think of), personally I’d create a new document and paste the text in it, then ditch that faulty document.
(I never had this happen to me. I suspect your Win/Mac usage.)

Are you referring to how a text item’s icon will look like a stack of paper when you add other items beneath it? You definitely should not be seeing that icon with no child items, though that is the only thing I could think to refer to as a sub-document icon. To clear up any ambiguities, refer to Table 7.1, under Binder Icons, in the user manual PDF: which of these are you seeing? (And of course the Explanation column in that table may clear up what is going on as well.)
