Document Notes in Outliner:

Hi!

Could it be possible to include a Document Notes column in Outliner mode?

Example: I tend to write (a scene’s) more detailed events in Document Notes and it would be great if I could print this along with the Outline. Can I perhaps do this some other way?

Daniel =)

IMHO, the most natural way would be to use the Synopsis field to that end instead. Have you tried that?

The synopsis integrates seamlessly into the outliner and the corkboard, although it is only a plain text field and not a rich text one.

Just my 2 cents.

Document notes are a rich-text field, so they can’t display on the outliner. You can however include them in a compiled outline, along with whatever other elements you’d like (title, label, synopsis, etc.). As an example, take a look at the “Enumerated Outline” or the “Synopsis and Titles” compile preset. From this base, you can go into the Formatting pane of compile and Opt-click a checkbox in the “Notes” column to include the document notes for all your items; you can format them in the area below if you want (or deselect “Override text and notes formatting” to keep their original format). Ticking the “Meta-Data” column will add label, status, keywords, etc. to the outline. Then you can compile to print, PDF, or other format.

Thanks both - the compiled outline with Document Notes will do just fine :slight_smile:
