I’m betting this is something basic but I’ve tried everything I can think of so far. All of my “Document Notes” are set to “include in Compile” but when I compile to word/docx format none of them are included. What am I doing wrong? (I’ve tried to search to forum but it’s a needle in haystack. Sorry!)

Well, the Include in Compile flag applies to documents as a whole, not specifically to the Notes attached to them. To have your documents notes printed along with the text in the documents you must check the pertaining Notes column on the Formatting pane below:
