Download from Dropbox to iPad - help?

Hi all,

Years ago I saved a scriv file. I’ve just got an iPad (no associated computer version) and have put the file in Dropbox.

I can’t work out how to get it from Dropbox into the app. If I go to ‘on Dropbox’, the scriv file is greyed out.

I can’t work out how to get it. I’ve tried dragging and dropping but nothing is working so far.

Thanks,

LJ

Hi @ljmuses! If the file is already in Dropbox, you’ll just need to need to connect the Scrivener for iOS app to the correct Dropbox folder in order for the project to show up in Scrivener for iOS’s project list.

If you have Dropbox linked to the Scrivener app already, open the Scrivener app, go to the main project list, and click “Edit” in the upper right corner. Then click the gear icon in the bottom right corner and click “Dropbox Settings” to check which Dropbox folder is connected. You’ll need to have “Other” checked and the specific folder the project is in selected.

If you don’t already have Scrivener for iOS connected to Dropbox, go to the main project list, and click “Edit” in the upper right corner. Then click the gear icon in the bottom right corner and click “Link Dropbox.” Follow the on-screen prompts to get connected to your Dropbox account. You’ll want to be sure to select “Other” and then the correct folder for the sync folder rather than the default Apps/Scrivener folder.
