Downloaded font stops bolding/italicizing/underlining after awhile

Hello,

I downloaded a new font maybe last year (PSL Ornanong Pro) and it usually works fine for me on Scrivener. However, after the app has been open for awhile, I stop being able to bold, italicize, or underline text, and have to quit and reload (at which point I am asked whether I want to re-download the font, I click yes, and everything works again after that). I’m guessing I initially downloaded/stored the font to the wrong place, and was wondering how I could do it so I don’t have to quit and re-download every time?

Thanks!

Probably a redundant question since you say it worked before, but did you also install the font variants in Font Book?

At least on my system, this font – including bold and italic variants – is included with Mac OS. It’s possible that by downloading it you created some kind of conflict.

On the Mac, Scrivener is entirely dependent on Mac OS for font management. You’ll need to use Apple’s Font Book tool to resolve this issue.

Here’s Apple’s help page on the subject: Install and validate fonts in Font Book on Mac - Apple Support

Thanks for sharing! I checked the Apple Font Book and all the variants were installed; I also validated it just in case (it showed up green) and resolved duplicates (though PSL Ornanong was not one of them).
